| TESTIMONIES FROM WORKERS |
| Andres Lopez said, “I heard of this organization by a neighbor who knew I was out of a job and was having a hard time finding one. I have been a member of the downtown community job center for 7 years and the first time I got raffled to go out to work I got sent to an electricity and pluming company who I have work for till last week. I got laid off for a couple of weeks because it is to slow but hope to go back in two weeks since this happens every year. All this time I have been a member of the center and support all activities. I visit often because I never forget anyone that helps me”. Fernando Alvarado said “ I found out of this center by a friend in a very difficult time in my life and it has changed my life in a very positive way. I became a daily member and the first two months help me to go out and work to buy my tools since I’m a mechanic. This place also helped allowed me to get known as a mechanic and now there is times where I don’t have time to come to the center because I have work to finish at home. I hope to one day be able to open my own business and employ other workers from the center”. |
