OUR HISTORY
The West Los Angeles Community Job Center opened its doors in
1999 after a year and a half of organizing work on 18 corners, thanks
to the efforts of city officials, the Police Department, residents, local
businesses and day laborers.

SERVICES TO EMPLOYERS
We provide honest, organized, and respectful workers to do the job
that may be required from an employer.  Our workers are skilled, as
well as general helpers, which are honest, organized and respectful
towards their employers, and themselves.
Following are the ways to hire workers through our program
and the Frequently asked questions:
The employer may call ahead or request a worker in
person: Our phone number is (323) 223-2120 or you can
send us an e-mail to request more information

Hours of Operation
  • The hours are 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday
through Saturday. If you need a worker for Sunday
you may call ahead to make arrangements during our
    business hours.

Can I hire a domestic worker?
No, we do not have domestic workers at this specific site but
you can find them through our Hollywood Job Center, or
through our cooperative Magic Cleaners. Information can
be found in our day laborer program page.

What if I want a specific worker?
  • Good question! Workers can be chosen through our
registration system but you may also choose a worker
who you have worked with prior to your arrival to the
    center.

Do the workers go to my work site?
Coordinators suggest that the initial meeting and
negotiation take place at the West LA Job Center which has
a bilingual coordinator who can assist. After the initial hiring
you may talk with the worker about the method of
transportation to the work site.

How do I pay a worker?
The negotiations are between the employer and the
employee.  Some workers charge more depending on their
skills and experience.  It is best to negotiate the rate before
initiating a job, we have bi-lingual coordinators that will be
happy to assist you.

Does IDEPSCA charge for its services?
IDEPSCA's West LA Site provides a free service by
providing an organized location where workers and
employers can meet.
